The difference between a celebrity and an icon is that an icon is like a meaningful, symbolic like person and a celebrity is usually a person famous for just basically anything.
I think for a fad to be a trend that people would have to treat a fad like a trend.The diferents between celebrity and an icon is , a celebrity I believe is one side that would do anything to make it.

My encounter with popular culture and the last twenty hours is that I see alot of people each an every day is that people uses Ipod while going and coming to were every they are going.I think it's amazing who we done went from using tape players to CD palyers an now Ipods, now what is going to be "Next".

the difference between an celebrity and an icon is that An icon is someone you look up to; someone that represents the best at what he/she does and is a good role model (Mother Molly, Ghandi, Obama). A celebrity is just someone who is in the media a lot. There are more celebrities than icons.

For a fad to become a trend is that everyone should join the fashion that is "In Style."
The difference between a celebrity and an icon is that a celebrity who is around the media because of what they did or made and an icon is someone you look up to, for example Martin Luther King Jr.
Some of my encounters with pop culture that I have seen is that people have Ipods and using cell phones for business. When I was little they had CD players and people would only use cell phones to communicate with people. Now the technology has advanced a lot and came up with the Ipod shuffle and Ipod touch. With cell phones people are now texting more, checking their mail, and even using the internet to get on Facebook, Twitter, and other web sites.

In order for a fad to become a trend, the fad need to appeal to most people. Meaning the fad have to appeal to the majority of the group so it become more popular and then later it becomes a trend.
The diffrence between a celebrity and an icon is celebreties are known beacuse they are famous through media, or the entertainment industry. An icon can be a person known for doing something significant or important in society. An example of icon would be someone like Martin Luther King Jr., because he fought for civil rights.
I encounter pop culture everywhere I go. I'm always listening to music that is popular right.
now. Plus I'm always using the technolgy that we have as well. For example, I'm alwyas using the computer, cell phone, and watch TV as well. Pop culture is everywhere I go. You can go into department stores and they have popuar music on the intercom. When I go out to the clubs with my friends I always get exposed to the music and to other things that is popular in pop culture. Since I live in DC and it is a city pop culture is everywhere. You really can't escape pop culture now in days it can just creep up at your door steps.

The difference between a celebrity and an icon, to me is that a celebrity is someone that is famous for been in the media most of the time like, movie stars, singers or others. And an icon is someone that you admire based on what he has done or what he does in his life.

A fad is a certain craze or obssesion for a certain period of time. A trend is something that moves forward or for a short period of time. The fad eventually becomes the trend for a little while then it is followed. The difference betwwen a celebrity and an icon is that a celebrity is someone who is followed by society and people follow those people for the fun of it. A icon could be anything from a symbol to a painting or whatever. Like me the number three is an icon for me because it symbolizes the holy trinity.

The difference between a celebrity and an icon is that an icon is someone you look up to. They usually represents something they are good at and are role models and people look up to them. A celebrity is a person that everyone knows by name and by seeing their face. They are in the media a lot and there are more celebrities than icons. Some things that I have encountered within the past 24 hours is clothing. It is starting to get chilly outside, and a lot of people are wearing blazers or the very stylish pea coats that are in.
